We had a community event at our school’s sugar house. Many people came, and I was asked to walk with them and explain our project. I was also trusted to drive other students in my dad’s truck, but during the day, the keys were locked in. Mr. Brady, the teacher running the events, lent me his keys to the school so that I could make a phone call for help.
When I couldn’t find help, Mr. Brady stayed with me to help figure out what to do. The funny part of the story is that his truck broke down, too, while trying to help me and we were stranded together. But the event was still great and I felt respected and trusted Mr. Brady, my peers, and the community members who came to the event.
