After school one day, the student council and the freshman class officers sat down with the principal, explaining how we wanted to approach our senior dues. He took everything we said into consideration and was actually glad we came up with the idea. He had been waiting for a class that didn’t wait until the last minute to pay their dues. He agreed to do as we asked, gave us some pointers, and allowed us to go ahead with our plan. I really liked how he listened to us and was willing to give us a shot. This really made me feel heard.

Another time when I felt heard was when the student council of each class thought that students were missing out on the announcements, so we decided to pitch our idea that students be emailed the announcements. Our idea was put into place and now every student has the chance to read them.
