There have been many times when I have believed that teachers were mentors to students. Teachers help students every day by making their school environment better for learning. As you walk through these halls, you see teachers helping students become better educated and better people. Teachers are understanding and are willing to be flexible with you, whether it is staying after school to give you extra help, giving you a couple extra days to turn in an assignment, or letting you retake a quiz. I don’t think we understand how much teachers actually help us and are there for us when we need them. The teacher that I choose is Mrs. L, who plays a very important role in this, whether I’m having a bad day or just need someone to talk to. She is always there for me. Mrs. L has many qualities to her wonderful personality: she’s flexible, intelligent, supportive, and she has a great sense of humor.

Mrs. L has taught me many things, like to forgive people and to realize that everyone makes mistakes, to always be kind to people because you never know whose help you will someday need. She has always been there for me through everything, both inside and outside the classroom. I see her everyday and she always has a smile on her face. I stop by her office at least twice a week and see her. It’s a place I can go where I won’t be judged and I can be myself.

Teachers are truly an amazing and important aspect to school and our education. Even though she doesn’t teach a subject anymore, Mrs. L is truly a great leader with all her confidence and spirit.

Teachers empower students by letting them understand and giving them a chance to learn. Teachers motivate students to try their best and always work towards their goals.
